Are boogieboards e-writers safe for use by young children?

Yes, Boogie Boards eWriters are safe for use by young children. All case and writing surface materials are made from impact resistant plastic. All case components are made from an ABS plastic material commonly used in many other consumer products. The LCD has passed toxicology assessment for safety.

Can the boogieboar ewriter be used outside?

The Boogie Board eWriter is designed for use indoors, so it’s not recommend for outside due to the damage it may occur.

How do I clean my boogieboard ewriter?

We recommend using a small amount of LCD cleaner, found at most major retailers. When using this product, do not spray the writing surface directly. Spray a small amount of cleaner onto the cloth and apply moderate pressure in a circular motion starting in the center of the writing surface working to the edges.

Is the battery replaceable?

Yes. The Boogie Board Jot 8.5 requires a 3v CR 2016 coin cell watch battery. If the batteries do need to be replaced, they can be easily removed by unscrewing the cover on the top of the eWriter.

Can the Boogieboard 8.5 save my notes?

The Boogie Board Jot 8.5 has the ability to save and edit what is written on the displays through an app only that is available in the App & Play Store – It does not save to the device itself. When searching for the app type Boogie Board Jot 8.5.

Calibrating Exact erase on Blackboard

If you are satisfied with your practice erase results, there is no need to calibrate Exact-Erase. Otherwise, if you are not satisfied with the results, the Exact-Erase button can be calibrated to diminish eraser smudges and/or dimming by continuing to the next steps.

1. Press and hold the Exact-Erase Button, then press and release the Clear button to advance to the next calibration setting.

2. Continue to hold the Exact-Erase Button and test the new setting by erasing a portion of the scribble, remembering to apply very firm pressure when erasing. If satisfied with the new setting, release the Exact-Erase Button to lock in the calibration.

Otherwise, continue to hold the Exact-Erase Button and continue to advance on to the next calibration setting by tapping the Clear Button until you until you find a calibration setting you like. Remember, do not let goof the Exact-Erase Button until you have locked into a calibration setting you like.

Erase Like a pen on Blackboard

Important: An effect that mimics the look of eraser smudges and slight dimming with Exact-Erase are normal but can be diminished by calibrating the button using the Calibration For First Use instructions below.

Normal Use:
1. Start with a simple set of scribbles across Blackboard to practice erasing with these instructions. Be sure to slide the Lock Switch to the left to enable erasing.

2. To practice erasing, press and hold the Exact-Erase button and erase like pencil using very firm pressure on the Blackboard Pen Eraser.

An effect that mimics the look of eraser smudges and slight dimming are normal but can be diminished by continuing to the Calibration For First Use instructions below.
